The Ritz Carlton Residences Miami Beach, Florida
Terrace House is surrounded by outdoor space with sweeping views to take advantage of, and that’s exactly what this design aims to do. A long hallway connects the main living space to the bedroom areas, and particular attention was given to this connecting point in the home. In doing so, a hallway becomes something so much more inviting.
By rounding the pillars that line the hallway and living spaces, an organic shape emerges from the flat walls. Above, a louvered ceiling draws attention to the terraces outside, gently beckoning residents and their guests to explore what lies beyond. The intricate cutouts and setbacks intermingle interior and exterior worlds, while also providing unexpected places to stage found items where they can play with light and shadow. Signature wood floors are interlaid in two different colors and textures to create a whimsical juxtaposition underfoot.
